About

Hello…I’m Rebecca. My passion for this work is rooted in my role as a parent raising children of color. As most who enter parenthood, I adopted them both with personal intention to be the best I could for them. Through adoption preparation and an open heart, I considered us well prepared to navigate life as a multi-race family.

My awareness of their needs began to shift as they entered adolescence, coinciding with major social injustices in our country. I gained a much clearer picture (albeit, a fraction) of what marginalized groups experience every day. I knew immediately that being the best for them meant educating myself extensively and committing to lifetime support of equitable practices.

Everyone has to start somewhere. I’m here to provide compassionate guidance on your inclusivity journey. Together, we can bridge gaps, facilitate effective communication, and create seamless ways to integrate more inclusivity and equity into your organization.

About My Work

I often say that I show up in this space with the core values of self awareness, respect and authenticity. Let me explain…

Self Awareness

I am also someone with a deep passion, a strong academic background and a keen understanding of the advantages that privilege provides.  I have plenty to share and plenty to learn. I’ll always continue to embrace that growth potential.

Respect

There are countless people of color in this work that I greatly admire and who have expertise beyond measure. I am deeply grateful to them for sharing their knowledge, and often trauma, to move messages of equity and inclusion forward. I believe that true equity means sharing the weight of the work. Being accessible to those who might relate to me or connect with my message is a valuable way for me to contribute. Additionally, it is important to me that the clients I engage with feel respected. We have all entered our journey of cultural inclusion at different points and in different ways. I am here to meet you wherever you’re at.

Authenticity

This work requires a lifelong commitment and a strong sense of humility. There will always be learning and growing to do. I am here because I believe in the infinite positive benefits that spark from nourishing equity and inclusion in our world.
